My first MAC purchase!!!

So after being a makeup obsessed person my whole life I was kind of surprised that I don't own any MAC make up. So I thought it was about time to try it out to see what the hype is all about. So I ordered this set...

M.A.C. Cosmetics

It's called the keepsake red lip bag. The items that are included in the set are Ruby Woo matte lipstick ($16 value), Ruby Woo lipglass ($15 value), Ruby Woo lip pencil ($16 value), all inside a beautiful limited-edition cream glitter makeup bag with pearl beaded trim and a cameo-encrusted zipper pull. (I'm not sure of the value of the bag). I only paid $39.50!!! When the value without the pretty makeup bag is $47, so it was a great starter set for me!

I love the lipstick! The color is very long lasting, I put it on in the morning ate breakfast and drank my coffee and it was still fresh looking! It was a little drying but when I felt like I needed to I just put some Chapstick on. The lipglass on the other hand I HATED! I've never had a problem with getting lip products on my teeth but this one some how endded up on my teeth during the day. Used it once, never again! It was kind of sticky too. Just not for me. The lip liner I didn't have a problem with I like it, I don't have much else to say about it.

Me with my new foundation and lipstick on!

The other two items I got was MAC studio fix fluid spf 15 foundation in NC20 it's ok but not the greatest I've tried. I keep finding myself reach for my Urban Decay Naked foundation instead. This one doesn't feel like it has very good full coverage with application. I applied it with my beauty blender so I don't know.

The other item I got was Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Pressed Powder I love the black glittery compact it comes in and it works pretty well to mattify my face throughtout the day and minimize the shine.

So that is my first order with M.A.C. cosmetics and overall I was mostly impressed with their lipsticks and with probably getting more in the near future!

What are your thoughts on M.A.C. products and what are your favorites that you think I should try?

Favorite Subscription Box!

So I have a little bit of a shopping problem and I love receiving mail. This is what I come home to on a regular basis...

The subsription boxes I receive monthly are ...
two IPSY bags per month
two BIRCHBOXES per month (I'm still waiting on one of my October boxes!)
sample society box from Allure/beautybar.com

I love all of them but I think the one I cannot live without is birchbox. I'm even considering getting rid of my glossybox or boxycharm to get another birchbox! But I don't want to get rid of them either!

I love birchbox so much because of their spectacular customer service! It is devine!!! They always go above and beyond to make sure your happy and the problem is fixed. Sometimes if they get your box wrong or something broke, they send you a whole new box and let you keep the old one. Or if your box is late like mine is this month they gave me 100 points for the shop, which is $10!!!

Birchbox gives you the chance to try out all sorts of products for only $10 so you can decide if you really like the product before committing to buying a full size!

At the same time you are earning part of your money back each month when you review your items from your box. Each item you receive and review you get 10 points. Your box usually has 5 items sometimes more. So five items is $5 back for you to spend in the shop.  So in a way the box is only $5 a month not $10.

They also started giving you the option to pick one of your samples to receive in your box from a select few each month! Like this month I picked the model co. lipstick which is a full size item!!!

I have fallen in love with so many products that I have tried from my birchbox, I've also bought a lot of the full size products of the samples I received in my box.

The items I bought in full size are...
A Beauty blender
Origins GinZing eye cream
Beauty protector conditioning spray
Suki facial scrub
Acure brightening facial scrub
Camille Beckman glycerin hand therapy in Tuscan honey
Davines Ol All in one milk, shampoo, and conditioner
Dr. Brandt Pores No More
Supergoop CC cream
Macadamia Flawless conditioning cleanser

Once you get to 500 points in a calendar year you are considered an ACE member, which means free shipping, first dibs on the monthly picks, and other gifts!

I admit when I signed up for birchbox I was only going to try it and cancel because I thought I wouldn't like it because it seemed like too much hair and skin products. But now that I have it I love the variety of makeup, skin care, and hair products. I've actually come to love skin care products and I've been taking better care of my skin since joining.

So out of all my subscription boxes that I get this is one that I plan on keeping FOREVER! (As long as they stay as awesome as they are now!)

So if you are interested in trying out this awesome subscription box click my link and try it out!

Men's Limited Edition Sweat the Small Stuff Birchbox

I decided to surprise my hubby by getting him the Sweat the Small Stuff Limited Edition Birchbox because when I saw it I knew it was perfect for him! He works out a lot and the backpack that he has, he has been using for over ten years and is falling apart so this came out in perfect time! It was $54 with a value of about $105! So here take a look at the goodies that he got!

First is your usual introduction card that comes in the box...

And on the other side of it, it lists what all is in the box...

Here's the contents of the box. I didn't even get a chance to take a picture of the stuff in the box or packaging because my husband had it opened and thrown out before I even got home from work. Lol.

Oh and the picture is only showing one pair of socks because my husband was already wearing the other pair. :) he said he really liked them and that they are SO SOFT!

Okay so the items that are included in this Limited Edition Birchbox are:
  • Bálla for Men -Body Spray FULL SIZE 6 oz. value $20
    • This is a non aerosol body spray so kinda like the body sprays from bath and body works. I just sprayed it on myself and it actually smells really good. It's a musky manly smell. It's long lasting and not too strong.
  • Baxter of California -Deodorant DELUXE SAMPLE 1.2 oz. full size is 2.65 oz for $18
    • I just went to check this stuff out it's like a solid clear gel and smells citrusy but also manly. I noticed he has been using it so he must like it. I like that it's all natural and doesn't contain aluminum or alcohol. (UPDATE! Birchbox just emailed my to let me know that they accidentaly sent a sample size instead of the full size and are shipping a full size out right away!)
  • Bombas -Ankle Socks value $9
  • Bombas -Calf Socks value $9
    • The socks like I said before he loves them, which is saying a lot because my husband is extremely picky when it comes to socks. He said that they are really soft and comfortable and he wouldn't having more.
  • KOR -Aura Water Bottle in blue value $11.95
    • He takes his water bottle to work and the gym everyday now. He is happy with it and I'm happy that now he can stop stealing my water bottles!
  • Quirky Wrapster value $1.99 (SOLD OUT on Birchbox site)
    • I stole this one from him because he has wireless headphones that he uses when he works out. I was excited for it but was a little bummed out because I have the iPhone headphones that have the volume buttons and mouth piece and they dont wrap correctly around them. (BUMMER!!!)
  • Under Armour -Trance Sackpack in black value $34.99
    • This is a great bag! It's pretty big and fits all of his gym stuff and it doesn't have the cheap string straps, they are actual straps.
So if you have a special someone that you need to get a gift for check this out it is a great bundle that also doesn't cost too much!

My question for you is... Do you know of any one that gets Birchbox for men and what do they think of it? I'm thinking about getting my hubby a sub box.

Everyone has favorites, These are mine!

So I decided to do a post on my favorite products that I use on a daily basis and I can't live without!!! I hope you guys enjoy and find some products you would like to try too!

FACIAL PRODUCTS
Purity by Philosophy & Brightening Facial Scrub by ACURE

So first here is my facial cleansers that I rotate using…

Acure is a facial brightening scrub it is great for exfoliating your face it makes you feel clean, soft, and smooth!  I first tried it because I received it in my birchbox and when I opened it I didn't want to try it because it smells kinda weird (I think like henna) and looked gross (because it is sea kelp). But I tried it anyways and just had to buy the full size. It was only $14.99 for a 4 oz tube.

How it Works
This formula is loaded with argan stem cells and chlorella growth factor, or CGF, which nudge skin to produce new cells and make complexion more radiant. French green clay and lemon peel deep clean pores, while organic sea kelp sloughs away the skin’s dull outer layer. (off of Birchbox website)

Purity made simple one step facial cleanser by philosophy is a great everyday cleanser that removes everything even your hard to remove eye makeup while cleaning and hydrating your face. I got this as a sample too from a beauty brands purchase I made online. Love it!!! It's worth trying, it's for all skin types. It also works great for cleaning your makeup brushes. Sizes and prices are (3 oz / $10) (8 oz / $23) (16 oz / $35) (24 oz / $42) (32 oz / $52)

How it Works
This facial cleanser quickly dissolves dirt, oil and makeup to deep clean pores while maintaining the skin's proper moisture levels. purity made simple™ is gentle enough for the eye area and even for the most sensitive skin. As a final step, the toner balances out skin’s pH levels. (off of Birchbox website)

Detox Clay Facial Soap for Acne
(my bar I've been using)
Detox Clay Facial Soap for Acne
Photo from MKStyles Soaps

This product is new to me, I took a leap of faith and tried it. There is a woman in a beauty group that I'm a part of that makes bath and body products and this is one of them that I tried and will be buying again & again when it runs out. It is great!!! I use it every morning and every night. It has kind of taken place of my purity for now. It was only $6.00 and it lasts forever! If you want to check out her ETSY shop MKStyles Soap Co. click here. Also here is the direct link to the facial soap
(Ingredients: Saponified Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Sustainable Palm Oil, Coconut Oil, Coconut Milk, Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter,Castor Oil, Tussah Silk Activated Charcoal, Kaolin Clay)

HAIR CARE
LUSH solid shampoo

So I started using solid shampoo about 3 months ago. Can you tell I love the yellow one!? One of the great things about the solid shampoo is it lasts forever! A few rubs across your wet hair and you have a huge foamy lather, its really awesome! So the purple is Jumping Juniper, the red is NEW!, and yellow is GODIVA.

Jumping Juniper is for softness and shine, it's made of lavender.
Cost $10.95

Herbal hair magic to transform oily hair
"Our purple shampoo bar jumps into action to sort out oil problems on top. It cleans away grease and balances sebum production for soft, shiny (in the good way) hair. Fruity juniperberry oil sorts out your oily, congested scalp, while lemon and lime make your hair clean and shiny and give it an extra fresh scent. The incredible herbal duo, lavender and rosemary are superpowers if you’re having troubles in the oil department. Rosemary has been used for hundreds of years for its anti-bacterial capabilities, while lavender is known for its ability to balance and soothe the scalp. You'll be jumping for joy in no time!" -LUSH.COM

NEW! is for a tingly fresh clean feeling, it's made of cinnamon sticks and clove.
Cost $11.95

Stimulating and reviving minty shampoo bar

"There’s nothing exactly new about our stimulating cinnamon and clove shampoo bar, we call it that because it's made for people who want NEW! hair! When stress or life goes to your head and your hair starts thinning, motivate those tired scalps with spice and mint oils. It’s intense, (in the best possible way), but works wonders on irritated scalps or hair that’s thinning. Rosemary and nettle herbs rejuvenate, and make your hair shiny and soft as a feather. All of this, in one beautifully spicy bar; are you ready for a NEW! shampoo?" -LUSH.COM

GODIVA is for a clean moisturizing feeling, It's kinda of like a shampoo and conditioner in one, it's made with Jasmine oil. (MY FAVORITE EVER!!!! I LOVE THIS SMELL!!!) I love how soft it makes my hair and I don't need conditioner afterwards. I smell is also long lasting.
Cost: $11.95

2-in-1 jasmine shampoo with conditioning butters

"Our vegan, 2-in-1 shampoo bar cleans and conditions your hair with moisturizing nut oils and shea butter. These butters and oils care for dry, processed locks and leave you with glossy, shiny, and softened tresses. Long used as a tonic for the hair and scalp, jasmine also perfumes your locks with an ultra-sexy fragrance with serious staying power. Named after a certain naked protestor, Godiva gets to work sending a message to your hair." -LUSH.COM

Davine Ol Products

This is my other set of go to hair products. I got to try them in my birchbox and just had to have them. They are from Italy and smell AMAZING!

Davines Ol Shampoo, Full size is 280 ml and $26.

Davines Ol Conditioner, Full size is 350 ml and $32. (a little goes a long ways!) It makes my hair so smooth and soft. I keep running my fingers through it. Hehe!

Davines Ol All in One Milk, Full size is 135 ml and $28.

How it Works
Packed with rich roucou oil, this cream supports hair growth and protects it from harmful UV radiation. Ellagic acid fights off free radicals and cell damage. For added moisture, provitamin B5 and a functional amino complex condition strands and keep them soft and supple during heat styling while preventing unwanted frizz. (off of Birchbox website)

BODY WASH

Lush in Flying Fox
Bath & Body Works in Pumpkin Pecan Waffles
Vitabath in Dreamy Pink Frosting

These are my three favorite body washes that I have to hide from my boys otherwise they will use it all!

Flying Fox is from LUSH, I love this one because of the Jasmine scent. It is a little pricey so I don't use it much. It also doesn't lather and foam very much, but that smell... Mmm... I can't get over it!

Pumpkin Pecan Waffles is from Bath & Body Works, it smells delicious, you only need a little bit to make it lather and foam a ton! It's $16 and I've tried to find it on their website to order more but I think you can only get it in stores and it's a limited edition :(

Dreamy Pink Frosting is from Vitabath, it's $7.99 you can buy it from www.vitabath.com this scent also comes in a lotion and body mist. It smells just like vanilla frosting! You only need a small amount of it to lather up and foam so it's a pretty great body wash. My oldest son loves the Wild Cherry body wash from vitabath.

MOISTURIZER

Clinique Moisture Surge

So how I got introduced to Clinique moisture surge was I got a sample of it in Hautelooks Spring Beauty Bag. It's some amazing stuff I usually don't like moisturizers because I don't like the sticky or greasy feeling it leaves behind. But this stuff feels cool and refreshing and absorbs fast, it's very lightweight. I bought this one from Nordstroms for $67 but it was for the largest jar 4.2 oz and a travel tube 1.7 oz so it was a great steal!

PERFUME

Michael Kors Glam Jasmine 3.4 oz

I got a sample of this perfume from a sephora order online and fell in love!!! Of course because it is JASMINE!!!! My husband surprised me for my birthday any got my a set for $120 from Ulta that included the large 3.4 oz perfume, the full size lipstick, full size nailpolish, a rollerball perfume and lipgloss duo, and even a Michael Kors makeup bag!!! Great value!!!! I just checked and they don't have it on their website any more :( Sorry!

Ulta Michael Kors Gift Set $120

See so pretty I loved it all! He is the greatest hubby ever!!! He even knew to go on my ulta account to order it so I would get my points!

 HAND CREAM

PERLIER Sweet Almond Milk Hand Cream

I got this hand cream in my birchbox mystery pack with a order I placed. I was going to put it in my swap pile because I have a ton of lotions and hand creams already. But I opened it and smelled it (if you couldn't tell I'm a smeller and if I like the smell I'm almost sold! Lol!) It's scent is Sweet Almond Milk. It's a thicker cream but it blends well and doesn't make your hands sticky. It also moisturizers very well, I keep it in my purse. I also endded up buying a 9 piece sampler set of their hand creams from HSN for $24.95.

The outside of my hand cream sampler box
The inside (So Pretty!)
All the different creams it comes with

LIPGLOSSES

Best lipgloss EVER!!!

I received my first NYX product from my Ipsy subscription a couple months back and it was one of these butter glosses. It is now my favorite lip product! I keep one in my purse, my work bag, and my coat pocket at all times! It's not sticky, it's mosturizing, and smells great! I swapped products for a few of these and got the rest at ulta during on of their sales. They normally sell for $4.99 each.

So now you have seen some of my most favorite products ever and I hope you decide to try some out!!!
Thanks for reading :)

Too Faced Everything Nice Palette Review

So I decide to purchase this palette on a whim. It was so pretty and eye-catching and it was a plus that it came with a make up bag!

Front cover

Inside

It comes with the deluxe size better than sex mascara and a glittery pink makeup bag. I was really excited about the make up bag but once I received it and I tried to put the palette inside it didn't fit so I was pretty disappointed. Also the glitter on the bag falls off and makes a mess! What's the point of it coming with the make up bag if it doesn't even fit inside of it?

Next I swatched the colors...

These are the first two rows. Some of them were kind of chalky. Didn't go on as smooth as some of the other eyeshadows that I have like urban decay or other too faced
 palettes that I have.

Here the next two rows. My favorite of the whole palette is the last one on the top row in this picture. I'll probably be returning this palette. It's not worth it for only one eyeshadow that I like.

The brushes are cheaper quality than the regular teddy bear brushes that too faced makes you'd be better off getting their original teddy bear brushes then these
Don't get me wrong I still love this brand but this product for me was not to my liking.

But at least now you guys know what I think of it and hopefully it helps some of you out. Thanks for reading my blog. I hope you enjoyed it. Feel free to leave me a comment.

Anybody else that has bought this palette what do you think of it?

Tarte 12 piece eyeliner swatches!

I decided to swatch my new tarte eyeliners tonight. It's the first time I've ever tried tarte pencil liners I usually use Urban Decay, Ulta, or Sephora's. But these are pretty awesome! They are very pigmented and creamy! Glides on like butter! I love that they came in a cute little roller bag with a eye pencil sharpener too!

From left to right:

Golden plum, Hunter green, chocolate, Navy, charcoal, brown, black, bronze, antique gold, jungle green, plum, and nude

In all I think this was a great purchase for only $25!!!! What a steal!!!! I know that it is still available on tartes website for $25 or $50 on QVC.

Here is the link for tartes website...

My Sephora Haul

So I live in a town of 350 and the closest mall is over an hour away and it isn't even that great of a mall. It has a maurices, rue 21, bath & body works and a few other stores. So almost everything that I buy is from online.

So here is an order that I just received from Sephora. Later I'm planning to do a post of my eyeliner swatches!

I bought the the Lorac Silver Screen eye collection because I tried a sample of the lorac eye primer and fell in love and wanted the full size but its $20 so instead I bought this for only $28 and got the full size Behind The Scenes Eye Primer (0.53 oz.), a beautiful silver eyeshadow in Silver Screen (0.06 oz.), a full size Cobra Mascara (0.25 oz.), and a full size eyeliner, Front of the Line Pro in Black (0.02 fl. oz.) An $83 value!
I got a deluxe Lorac mascara free as a gift with purchase!

I bought the Tarte Eye Opening 12 Piece Eyeliner Set for only $25!
Shades include: Nude, Bronze, Brown, Chocolate, Plum, Antique Gold, Hunter Green, Jungle Green, Navy, Charcoal, Black and Golden Plum.  (12 x 0.0423 oz.)
I got the Tarte mascara and powder free as a gift with purchase!

I already have the Smashbox Full Exposure Palette in the full size but decided to get the smaller one to keep in my purse. It is the perfect to go palette! Small enough to even fit in my wallet!

I bought the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Precision Longwear Liner on sale for $10 from $20. This is the second one that I have purchased so I would have a back up! That is how much I fell in love with this liner. Its so easy to use. You can make it thin or thick. It stays and it looks good!

So that is a look at my little shopping bag of goodies and I will get back to you all with some swatches so stay tuned! If you have any questions please feel free to ask! I hope you all have a good night!
